Job Description

We are looking for a Finance Controller to take over our daily financial operations as well as grow and improve our processes, while keep our finances running smoothly day-to-day, and make our financial processes better and more efficient as we grow.

What you will do

  • Plan and manage our financial tasks including budgeting, forecasting, accounting, and creating financial reports.
  • Handle day-to-day financial operations such as paying bills, managing invoices, and ensuring all transactions are accurately executed and recorded.
  • Perform month-end and year-end closing activities and prepare quarterly financial reports to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Support strategic financial activities like new investment rounds, capital raising, and other startup-related financial tasks.
  • Work on automating processes and transitioning our financial operations from Excel to more advanced accounting software. This might involve working with software vendors, auditors, tax consultants, and other financial experts.
  • Improve and mature our financial operations, ensuring we have robust systems and processes in place as we grow.

What you are bringing

  • A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent proven experience.
  • Experience in planning and managing financial operations, preferably in a startup. This includes experience automating financial processes, and implementing new systems.
  • Experience with day-to-day financial operations such as bill payments, invoice management, and month-end/year-end closing activities.
  • Strong skills in analysing financial data, including budgeting, forecasting, and data analysis. You should be able to make sense of complex information and draw meaningful conclusions.
  • Proficiency in accounting software beyond Excel, such as QuickBooks, Xero, or similar platforms.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and French. Spanish would be a plus. Capacity to explain complex financial information in a clear and simple way.
  • Highly organised, good at managing projects, and handling multiple tasks at the same time.

What you will find here

  • We are a small but growing team of ambitious scientists, physicians, and engineers. We understand that our mission will not be simple or quick, but we are determined to create more time that matters.
  • We are a highly collaborative, interdisciplinary, and pragmatic team and care deeply about creating a company culture that allows everyone to thrive and grow.
  • We are committed to rethink how we provide healthcare, from treatment of diseases to preventive care to slow down aging and extend life and health. If you want to deliver the very best outcomes to your patients rather than following common wisdom of how healthcare works, you will love working with us.
  • Our processes, company size and personal responsibilities are not yet established and will change faster than in a corporate environment. This means there is a lot of room for you to take responsibility and move fast, but it can also be overwhelming at times.
