Description
The Chief Financial Officer is a member of the executive team with extensive experience as a CFO for publicly traded companies, highly developed relationships within investment communities and a proven record of raising substantial capital and delivering returns to shareholders. A Chief Financial Officer has demonstrated ability to manage the transition from a late-stage clinical development organization into commercialization, and/or demonstrated ability to manage a commercial stage organization.
Job Functions
- Provide financial expertise and leadership as part of the Executive Management team
- Lead the financial planning process
- Assess financial risks
- Analyze financial strengths and weaknesses and propose corrective actions
- Submit accurate financial reports
- Develop relationships and integrate fully into the company, industry, and its stakeholders
- Expand and improve the reporting capabilities of our ERP system to support commercial operations
- The CFO has functional expertise in the following areas:
- Corporate and financial strategy
- Capital markets
- Analytical skills
- Financial modeling
- ERP system management and implementation
- Product commercialization (e.g. marketing, distribution, reimbursement)
- Mergers and acquisitions
- Valuation analysis
- Corporate communications
- Investor relations
- Corporate media visibility
Knowledge/Skills
- Depth and breadth of knowledge as CFO for a publicly held commercial company
- Strong communicator with presence that commands acknowledgment of their accomplishments
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Collaborator who is effective in leading change and people
- Organized, focused and able to communicate with confidence
- Understands and employs situational leadership skills
- Delivers a balance of urgency and thoroughness
Education/Experience
- CFO role(s) from pharmaceutical, biologics, biopharmaceuticals, medical device, or similar sectors of the life sciences industry
- Extensive experience as publicly traded company CFO
- Proven record of raising substantial capital in equity and debt financing to support large-scale, late-stage clinical development of biotech drugs and commercial development
- Late-stage product development to commercial launch strategy and scale up
- Interaction with Board of Directors
- Strong and actionable investor community relationships
